Quran khawani and Dua ceremonies for the martyrs of Model Town tragedy continue to take place across the world including Pakistan on the completion of the eight years of the massacre. A delegation of MQI led by Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur visited the residences of the martyrs and met with their family members. They did Fateha khawani for the departed souls and expressed their solidarity with the families of the martyrs.
Speaking on the occasion, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that we pay rich tributes to the sacrifices rendered by the martyrs. He said that we stand by the family members like a rock and until they get justice, our legal struggle will continue unabated.
MQI Secretary General said that the martyrs of Model Town are our pride. He said that they embraced Shahdat while waging a struggle for the rights of the people and against the oppressive system. He said that their blood is a debt on us and it would not go to waste. He said that our struggle for justice will continue till the last breath.
The delegation included PAT Lahore president Dr Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, MQI Lahore chapter president Rana Nafees Hussain Qadri, Mazhar Alvi, Tayyab Zia, Shahbaz Bhatti, Haji Arshad, Osama Mushtaq and others. The delegates held a meeting with the families of Tanzila Amjad Shaheed, Shazia Murtaza Shaheed, Asim Hussain Shaheed, and Ghulam Rasool Shaheed. They made Dua for the departed souls of the martyrs on behalf of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
