MQI delegation visits residences of martyrs of Model Town

Quran khawani and Dua ceremonies for the martyrs of Model Town tragedy continue to take place across the world including Pakistan on the completion of the eight years of the massacre. A delegation of PAT and MQI led by Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur visited the residences of the martyrs and met with their family members. They did Fateha khawani for the departed souls and expressed their solidarity with the families of the martyrs....

Justice still evasive after the passage of eight years: Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that eight years have gone by since the Model Town tragedy was perpetrated. He said that despite the passage of such a long time, the provision of justice does not seem to be in sight. He said what to speak of justice, the oppressed have not got the right to fair investigation and they are going from pillar to post for their basic rights. He said that the accused are benefiting from the pending appeals....

Bisma Amjad writes an open letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan

In an open letter addressed to Chief Justice of Pakistan, Bisma Amjad, daughter of Shaheed Tanzila Amjad, has said that former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar put his hand on her head with affection and asked her to fulfill the dream of her Shaheed mother while leaving the matter of justice in Model Town case to the judiciary. She said that she became hopeful about the dream of her education with this assurance....

PAT to hold protests across the country on June 17, 2022

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has decided to hold protests across the country at the district level on the 17th of June in remembrance of the martyrs of Model Town tragedy. PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has written a letter to all district organizations in this regard in which the directions have been given to the local chapters to hold protests against injustice on the occasion of the completion of 8 years of the Model Town massacre....

Concerned at return of the accused in Model Town case to power: PAT

PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that dispensation of justice for the oppressed of Model Town tragedy and punishment to the killers is the responsibility of the judiciary. He said it is a matter of great concern that those involved in the tragedy have come to power. He said if the masterminds, and handlers evade justice, the weaker segments of society will lose their trust in the system of justice. He said that we have filed an appeal against the acquittal of Capt (r ) Usman....

Justice still awaited despite the passage of 7 years: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that the only legal demand for the impartial investigation into the Model Town tragedy has not been met in the last seven years and the oppressed continue to look for justice even today. He said that the families of the martyrs of Model Town tragedy have become a shuttlecock between the Supreme Court in Islamabad and Lahore High Court in Lahore for fair and neutral investigation....

Sufficient evidence available to prove involvement of Capt. (r) Usman in Model Town case

After the hearing of private complaint in the Model Town case in the anti-terrorism court, Naeem-ud-Din Chaudhry Advocate, who is legal spokesperson for PAT, spoke to the media and briefed it about the proceedings. He said that one principal accused Capt. (r ) Usman, who is Commissioner Lahore these days, had petitioned the court for acquittal in the case. He said that the lawyers representing both the sides completed their arguments....
