Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) writes to WTO about Dr Tauqir Shah's role in Model Town Lahore massacre. Dr Tauqir Shah has been appointed as ambassador of Pakistan to the World Trade Organization. We write to apprise you of his unsuitability and unfortunate background of his appointment to WTO. On the 17th of June 2014 the government sent the police to carry out an armed operation at the head office of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) and the residence of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri in Lahore, which continued for approximately fifteen hours....

Elimination of terrorism not possible until foreign funding stops: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has made it clear that unless foreign funding is banned, it will not be possible to eliminate terrorism. He said that foreign funding to seminaries reflects criminal negligence of successive governments that failed to discharge their responsibility for reasons of expediency and narrow interests. He said that all governments of past are equally responsible for mushroom growth of extremism and radicalism in the country....

Government deceiving people on issue of terrorism: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the government is deceiving people on the issue of terrorism. He said that funds have continued to be received from abroad in the name of elimination of terrorism and the past governments were also involved in this practice. He said that the French President and the whole cabinet led a rally of four million people against terrorism, asking when the honour of Pakistan’s Prime Minister will wake. He said why did the Prime Minister not appeal to the nation to take to the streets after Peshawar tragedy and why did he not invite the heads of Muslim countries?...

Speakers at UK Parliament House ceremony call for justice for Model Town victims

British member of Parliament George Galloway has said that Pakistan is passing through difficult time. He said that the whole nation would have to forge unity in their ranks to combat the challenges. PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that everyone knows who fired bullets at innocent civilians and who is a killer. He said that we would not let justice be murdered, adding that Dr Tauqir Shah, who got orders of killing from the Chief Minister, is being appointed ambassador to make him stay mum. He said that the JIT composed of killers is not acceptable at any cost. He said that the establishment of a commission consisting of retired judges to review report a serving judge is tantamount to a contempt of court....

No compromise on workers’ sweat what to speak of their blood: Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

What to speak of a deal on martyrs’ blood, there can be no compromise on even sweat of workers. No one should have any doubt about the fact that there will be blood for blood according to Pakistani law and justice system. The rulers are responsible for Wagha border tragedy as they are least bothered about security and safety of life, property and honor of citizens. We will not rest till we make the culprits of Model Town tragedy face the law and get punished accordingly. Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Women Wing, Monday, held demonstrations in front of press clubs in all major cities of the country to mark completion of five months of June 17, the day when unfortunate Model Town tragedy took place and protest issuance of arrest warrants of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. The peaceful protest demonstrations were held in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat and Jhelum.
