The father of Shahbaz Mustafavi, who was martyred in Model Town massacre, called on Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri at his residence. Tayyab Zia, organizational coordinator, was also present on the occasion. Dr Hassan expressed his condolences and sympathies on the death of the mother of Shahbaz Shaheed and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace....

Workers demanding justice made prisoners: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the oppressive system has made the workers who protested against the killing of 14 innocent citizens in Model Town the prisoners. He said that he is grieved on the sentences given to 107 PAT workers on the charge of vandalism. He said that the workers should not consider themselves alone, stating that we will go to the higher courts to get these sentences reversed....

Bisma Amjad petitions LHC against hearing on the new JIT

Bisma Amjad, the daughter of Shaheed Tanzila Amjad, has submitted an application to the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court in which she prayed that the bench established to hear plea against the formation of the new JIT is against the rules. She said that no such precedent exists. She said that at a time when a divisional bench was considering an application against the JIT including its maintainability or otherwise, a fact that the honorable justice had mentioned, the accused party had the gall to move another petition for the formation of a full bench....

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri reaches Lahore, talks to media

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that it is the first impartial JIT formed in the wake of Model Town tragedy that questioned former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, visited the crime scene and conducted the forensic tests of the bullets and arms used during the police brutality. He said that the last two JIT did not even record the statement of the injured. He said that we are committed to waging this struggle for justice and would continue to do so in the future as well....

SC orders formation of new JIT to probe Model Town case

Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday has disposed of Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) plea seeking formation of new joint investigation team (JIT) to probe Model Town carnage and directed the provincial government to reconstitute the team. A five-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar and comprising Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, Justice Azmat Saeed, Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Mazhar Alam Mian heard the case....

Will present our point of view before SC on December 5: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that we will present our point of view before the larger bench of the Supreme Court for constitution of a new JIT to probe the Model Town tragedy. The SC is going to take up the petition at its principal seat in Islamabad on December 5. He said that the establishment of a new JIT is inevitable to open the doors of justice on the families of the martyrs. He said that patience and perseverance with which the families have stayed put in their legal struggle is laudable and does not have a parallel anywhere....

Model Town Massacre: SC forms larger bench to hear plea seeking new JIT

LAHORE: The Supreme Court on Monday ordered constitution of a five-member larger bench to hear a petition seeking new joint investigation team to probe the Model Town Massacre. Hearing the case at the apex court’s Lahore Registry today, Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said the new larger bench would hear the case from December 5 to examine the plea whether formation of a new JIT needed to process the case....
